13 июня 1961 года легендарный советский космонавт Юрий Гагарин заложил первый камень в фундамент здания будущего музея космонавтики в городе Калуга (Россия). Музей был открыт для посетителей в 1967 году. Это первый в мире и крупнейший в России музей космической тематики, созданный при непосредственном участии советского инженера-конструктора Сергея Королёва и первого в мире космонавта Юрия Гагарина.
On June 13, 1961 the legendary Soviet astronaut Yury Gagarin has put the first stone to the base of the building of future museum of astronautics in the city of Kaluga (Russia). The museum was opened for visitors in 1967. It is the world first-ever and largest museum of space subject in Russia created with direct participation of the Soviet design engineer Sergey Korolyov and the first astronaut in the world Yury Gagarin.
